Mr. Peebles, our Founder, planted our first groves in Indian River County in 1946 following retirement from his engineering career. Retirement didn't last long once Mr. Peebles began a study of citrus culture in the county. He subsequently purchased 40 acres of prime Indian River County farmland and expanded to 500 acres shortly thereafter.

Partially due to the position and composition of the limestone layer in Indian River County, our area is renowned for producing the sweetest, juiciest and most beautiful Florida citrus fruits.

Mr. Peebles was instrumental in developing and promoting Vero Beach as a center for citrus cultivation as well as a place of investment and vacation amongst Pennsylvania snowbirds. Here, Range Line Groves hosts a tour of an early Packing House in Indian River County, circa 1950.

Beginning with Tom Peebles who founded Range Line Groves in 1946, to his son-in-law Art (pictured) who helped build the business, then onto his son and current owner Tom Jones who expanded into direct-to-consumer gift-fruit shipping with Hyatt Fruit Company, we continue the family legacy via our long-running catalog and now our e-commerce presence.
